As part of the 23rd European Biomass Conference & Exhibition in Vienna, the Austrian Day – a bioenergy technology day, will take place on 3 June 2015. Under the patronage of the Austrian Biomass Association, the event will be run by the Austrian Centre of Excellence BIOENERGY 2020+ in cooperation with the organizers of EUBCE.
The Austrian Day is supported by BMLFUW, BMVIT and WKÖ. Under the Chairmanship of Prof. Hermann Hofbauer, Key Researcher of BIOENERGY 2020+, Austrian companies and research institutes will present their “Made in Austria“ innovations of heat, power and fuel production to an international audience.
Based in a strong domestic market, Austrian bioenergy technology has a global leading position.
Roughly half of Austria’s households are supplied by a biomass-based heating system. With the exception of hydropower, biomass is Austria’s largest renewable energy source.
The Austrian Day is divided into 4 blocks:
> Fuels, raw materials, pre-treatment
> Residential Heat
> Heat and CHP
> Gaseous and liquid biofuels
After the welcoming presentations on the topics of market development, potentials and biomass utilisation, each block will include five lectures of austrian companies and research institutes.
