ETIP Bioenergy Workshop Emerging Technologies

ETIP Bioenergy will present several low TRL biofuel technologies during a workshop taking place on 4th June at the NH Brussels EU Berlaymont in Brussels, combined with offering opportunities for B2B (business-to-business) matchmaking.
The European Technology and Innovation Platform Bioenergy is an industry-led stakeholder platform that brings together relevant actors from academia, industry, and civil society, engaged in the development of sustainable bioenergy and competitive biofuel technologies. One major task of ETIP Bioenergy is to address the technical and economic barriers to the further development and accelerated commercial deployment of bioenergy technologies for the widespread sustainable exploitation of biomass resources.
The ETIP Bioenergy workshop “Emerging Technologies” will give an overview of relevant projects and work on advanced biofuels production technologies with a low Technology Readiness Level. The aim of the workshop is to highlight technologies that have not yet been demonstrated at large scale, i.e. TRL 4-5 and 6-7.
The sector of low TRL technologies is wide, and a vast number of R&D projects aim to further develop new biofuel production technologies. Both public funding and support and private financing will be required to reduce costs and to improve performance of renewable fuels regarding efficiency, the environment and society.
Agenda at a glance
The one-day workshop will start at 9:30 and will close at 17:45. There will be two sessions for the presentation of projects on emerging technologies, providing details on the technological description, pilot facility data, partners and future plans. These presentations will be complemented by a B2B matchmaking session in the afternoon. Workshop participants will have the opportunity for “speed-dating” others to discuss possibilities for future collaboration.
ETIP Bioenergy invites experts to submit a proposal for a presentation at the “Workshop Emerging Technologies” on 4th June 2018 in Brussels. Deadline for submission is the 7th May 2018. Authors of selected proposals will be notified until 10th May 2018.
The attendance of the workshop is free of charge; registration is required due to limited space (max. 45 participants, first come first serve). Deadline for registration and B2B Matchmaking is the 30th May 2018.
