The European Biomass Conference and Exhibition is well acknowledged as a prime event and unique networking opportunity for the global biomass and bioenergy community, arrived this year to its 21st edition. The call for abstracts launched at the end of 2012 returned the remarkable number of 860 contributions from 64 countries, spanning accross all subjects and the different branches of the biomass sector.
Do you know what happens when you submit an abstract to this event?
Every year all abstracts are screened and evaluated online in an independent and transparent way by a committee of 150 international experts selected on their background and their expertise. the committee judges the relevance, the innovation and the methodological approach of the contributions received. The process culminates in a one-day meeting of a group of over 50 committee members, the so-called topic organizers, who collect the results of the online evaluations and forge the 5-day program of the conference by grouping them into plenary and parallel oral and poster sessions.
Coordinated by the Technical Program Chairman, the work of the committee is one of the key assets of this event which ensures that the program is always up-to date and consistent with the latest trends in the industry, the policy agenda and the most relevant scientific and technological advances.
